Abstract: JAMILADAN, EILEEN JOY F; TECSON, JASMIN CYRILLE P., Sociodemographic Characteristics, Personality, and Career Choice of First Year Students of Cavite State University, Indang. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June, 2019. Adivser: Dr. Cecilia B. Banaag. The study was conducted on February 2019 in Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, to determine the relationship of sociodemographic characteristics and career choice; and personality and career choice of first year students of Cavite State University. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1. determine the sociodemographic characteristics of the students in terms of: sex, birth order, family size, civil status of parents, and socioeconomic status. 2. determine the personality of the students based on RIASEC. 3. determine the career choices of the students based on their senior high school strand and college course enrolled. 4. identify the degree of relationship between sociodemographic characteristic and course enrolled. 5. identify the degree of relationship between personality and course enrolled. 6. identify the degree of relationship between strand taken and course enrolled. 7. determine the significant predictor of career choices among the related variable. Descriptive correlational design was used in the study. A self-made sociodemographic survey and Holland's RIASEC Personality test were also utilized in the study. A sample of n=400 was utilized in the study, participants were determined using Cluster Random sampling. Generally, the findings suggested that majority of the first year students were female age 17 to 18 with the personality of social and conventional. They chose the strands HUMSS and ABM. Similarly they are enrolled in Business related, and Humanities and languages-related. The strand taken and the course enrolled of the first year students were found to be aligned. Therefore, during the age of 17 to 18, students are capable of choosing a long-term career path. The strand ABM and HUMSS corresponds to the college courses of business-related, and humanities and languages-related courses which are consistent with social and conventional personality type. These are actually female dominated courses and considered "in demand". Students' selected courses are aligned with strand taken in Senior High School.
