Abstract: CABALLERO, KIMBERLY C., ESPINELI, LEIRA MHAY S. and VILLAGANAS, GIRLIE T., Exploring the Extraordinary Life of Summa Cum Laude Graduates of Cavite State University: A Case Study. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Imelda E. Filart, RPm. This research was conducted from August 2018 to May 2019 to determine the following: 1) challenges encountered by the Summa Cum Laude graduates of Cavite State University, 2) strategies utilized by the Summa Cum Laude graduates to cope up with the challenges why they ended up being Summa Cum Laude, 3) advantages of being a Summa Cum Laude to their present life in accordance to their: a. career opportunities, b. job retention and; c. career growth and development and; 4) perception of being successful in life. The study employed purposive sampling technique to select the three (3) Summa Cum Laude participants. Data sourced out primarily through face-to-face interview with guide questions validated by three (3) experts. The study revealed that the challenges and problems they encountered were not the basis to end up being Summa Cum Laude. The positive response to the challenges they encountered is unusual. They were all focused on their study and characterized as being goal-oriented and self- disciplined. They admitted that being a Summa Cum Laude guaranteed a good work ethics to prove that they are globally competitive individuals.
