Abstract: EC0 CRUZ, JONA MA IE D., GONZALES, MARK ANTHONY t and TALATALA, MARK ICERVI[E N., Design and Development of The College of Engineering and Information Teeillnollogy Facullty and Staff Tracking System Base Device. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Mr. Bienvenido C. Sarmiento Jr.. The "Design and Development of the College of Engineering and Information Technology Faculty and Staff Tracking System Base Device" was conducted at Indang, Cavite and Dasmarinas, Cavite. In general, the study aimed to design a device for the transmission and reception of signals from the ID device to the selector, and to the display board. Specifically, it aimed to develop and construct a Bluetooth base device system, to develop a software to control the operation of the device, to test and evaluate its performance; and determine the cost of the device. The device was comprised of the processing unit (PU), the transceiver driver, and the Bluetooth module circuits. The device was enclosed in a standard plastic casing to avoid function failure. A light emitting diode (LED) was installed to indicate its state (on or off). It is powered either by the main supply or through the use of batteries. The tracking system was comprised of six (6) base devices installed in the four (4) buildings of the College of Engineering and Information Technology Complex, namely Information Technology Center (ITC), Information Technology Building (ITB), Engineering Building (EB), and the Engineering Shops (ES). These devices were installed in a strategic location in each of the buildings where it can scan and detect ID devices and determine the bearer's nearest probable location. The device was tested and evaluated at multiple factors involving distance, locations and obstacles. Upon the completion of the procedure, the functionality of the device was then confirmed.
