Abstract: BUENA, AILYNE SAMIANO: Procrastination Level, Personality Traits and Academic Standing of High School Students of Trece Martires City National High School, A.Y. 2008-2009: Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Cavite State University, April 2009. Adviser: Ms. Joy G. Novero. This study was conducted to determine the Procrastination Level, Personality Traits and Academic Standing of High School Students of Trece Martires City National High School, A. Y. 2008-2009. The general objective of the study aims to: determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age and gender; determine the personality traits of the respondents in terms of warmth, dominance, reasoning, rule conscientious, privateness, vigilance, perfectionism and social boldness; determine the level of procrastination of the respondents; determine the academic standing of the respondents in terms of academic period from first to second grading; determine the relationship between procrastination level, personality traits and academic standing to the profile of the respondents according to gender; determine the significant relationship between personality traits and procrastination level of the respondents; and determine the relationship between procrastination level and academic standing of the respondents. This study employed the Point Biserial Correlation Coefficient, Chi-square Correlation Coefficient, Spearman Ranked and t-test statistics. The method utilized in the study is a descriptive method. The respondents were gathered by the use of stratified random sampling and convenience sampling. A validated procrastination level test and personality traits test were administered to determine the procrastination level and personality trait of the respondents and profile. The respondents of this study were (266) selected third year students of Trece Martires City National High School. Results revealed that in term of personality traits majority of the respondents are reserved, dominant, intelligent, expedient, forthright, trusting, controlled and shy. While 70.7 percent reveals that the majority of the respondents are often procrastinating or having high procrastination levels. The academic standing of the respondents is satisfactory which means that they attained an average standing in their class in their three major subjects. As a whole, the study only shows that gender has no significance relationship with personality traits, procrastination level and academic standing. However, the procrastination level has a significant relationship on their personality . such as warmth either reserved or outgoing and social boldness which either shy or | venturesome. While, the satisfactory standing procrastination level is not significantly related with the respondent’s academic standing.

However, the procrastination level has a significant relationship on their personality . such as warmth either reserved or outgoing and social boldness which either shy or | venturesome. While, the satisfactory standing procrastination level is not significantly related with the respondent’s academic standing.
