(General Science Curriculum). Science High School, College of Education, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, March 2010. Adviser: Prof. Myleen P. Legaspi. This study, entitled Job Satisfaction, Employment Status and Academic Rank of Selected Public Elementary School Teachers in Indang, Cavite was conducted to determine the relationship among job satisfaction, employment status and academic rank of selected public elementary school teachers from Indang Central Elementary School and Indang East Elementary School in Indang, Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to determine the demographic profile of the respondents, their level of job satisfaction, current employment status and present academic rank. This study also tried to determine the relationship between job satisfaction and employment status of selected public elementary school teachers. The relationship between job satisfaction and academic rank of selected public elementary school teachers in Indang, Cavite was likewise determined. This study made use of the descriptive-correlational method. The total enumeration method was used to determine the samples of the study. A standardized questionnaire, which was a checklist, was also used. In analyzing the data, frequency counts, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Likert Scale and chi-square test of association were employed. Majority of the teachers belonged to the old age bracket which ranged from 31 years old and above. Out of 34 respondents, 31 (91%) had ages of 31 and above which. fell under the old age bracket and only three (9%) belonged to middle age bracket which ranged from 26 to 30 years old. No one from the respondents fell under the young age bracket which ranged from 20 to 25 years old. Moreover, majority of the respondents were female. Of the 34 respondents, 31 (91 %) were female and three (9%) were male. Of the 34 respondents, 25 (74%) were married, five (15%) were single and the remaining foue (12%) were widowed. Of the response of 34 public elementary school teachers, the lowest rating of job satisfaction, which is 2.79, belongs to the third bracket (2.6 — 3.39) of the Job Satisfaction Range of Values, corresponding to "satisfied" while the highest rating is 4.86 which belongs to the fifth bracket (4.2 — 5.0), corresponding to "highly satisfied". When it comes to employment status, 31 (91%) out of 34 respondents were regular employees while only three (9%) were contractual employees. A total of 29 (85%) of the teachers were Teacher 3, two (6%) were Special Education Teachers, only one (3%) ranked Master Teacher, one (3%) Teacher 1, and one (3%) Teacher 2. There was no significant relationship between job satisfaction and employment status of the respondents. The computed significance value of .419 was greater than the critical value at five percent level of significance. Hence, the respondents' job satisfaction was not affected by their employment status. Job satisfaction and academic rank of selected public-school teachers in Indang, Cavite had also been found insignificant. The computed significance value of 0.183 was greater than the critical value at five percent level of significance. Hence, the respondents' job satisfaction was not affected by their academic rank.
