Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2011. Adviser: Engr. Marcelino A. Dagasdas Jr.
The Structural Analysis of Lyceum of the Philippines University-Cavite Campus Sotero H. Laurel Building was conducted at the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite from June 2010 to March 2011.
The Lyceum of the Philippines University-Cavite Campus is branded as the first resort university across the metro with its in-school lagoon, which continuously attracted students whose interests are with their field of specialization. Along the resort-type facilities that the LPU—Cavite boasts, its building structure is also a fascinating sight. The peculiar-shaped edifice has become a marvel to on-lookers, particularly to those specializing in Engineering.
This study aimed to analyze the structural members of the LPU—Cavite Campus Sotero H. Laurel Building. Analysis on the structural members of the building, particularly in designing the frames and trusses using manual computations, would not be that effortless. The aid of computers and structural engineering software such as Structural Aided Analysis and Design (STAAD) would be of great help for the reason that it abridges complex and lengthy computations.
