Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Ms. Ana Ruth M. Andalajao, RPm. The study was conducted to determine the self-perceived quality of life of children of the streets in the city of Imus, Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to describe the perceived quality of life of children of the street in terms of their subjective well-being, subjective affective experiences and needs. The study involved eight children of the street as participants. The researchers used qualitative research design to describe, explore, and gather detailed understanding and to focus on personal observation about the life experiences of street children and their quality of life. Particularly, interpretative phenomenological approach was utilized to use the participant's actual experiences to gather descriptions of their experiences, their written or oral self-report, or even their aesthetic expressions through an interview (Waters J., 2000). The result revealed that street children of Imus City, Cavite have a high self-perceived quality of life despite that they were unsuccessful, have more negative experiences than positive experiences and have unfulfilled needs. But still, they were contented, happy, and satisfied with what they were and what they have. Also, even though they are experiencing hardships they still focused on the positive outlook of life.
