Abstract: LERIN, ROSA MAE M. BACKYARD HOG FATTENING IN BARANGAY AGUADO, TRECE MARTIRES CITY: An Entrepreneurial Development Project. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship Major in Animal Production, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Irvin Matel, DVM, M.Sc. The hog fattening enterprise was conducted at a backyard farm in Barangay, Aguado, Trece, Martires City, Cavite from December 17, 2018, to April 02, 2019. The four weanlings used in the production were bought in the JARO FARM at the Barangay Aguado, Trece Marites City, Cavite. The weanlings that have an initial weight of 17.88kg with no deformities were selected. Hogs were accorded the proper care through the duration of the project. Regular feeding, cleaning and bathing the animals, when the weather was good. Those practices were done in every day for the safety and to avoid illness that can affect the production. After the 108 days of rearing, the hogs attained an average final weight of 101 kg. The hogs registered a gain in weight of 83.12 ADG and an FCE of 2.41. The student entrepreneur sold the four hogs to the hog trader, Mr.Jerry Solomon for a price of P 120 per kilo live weight. The student entrepreneur gained P6, 501.60 net income of the enterprise with the capital of P42, 018.40 with the return on investment (ROI) of 15.47%.
