Abstract: LIU, JOSEPH DANIEL S. and PARIN, JUAN KARLO D. Development of Human Resource Information System of the Municipal Office of Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Gladys G. Perey. The study was conducted to provide an integrated solution that addressed the issues of misplaced personal data, slow generation of reports and too much space in storing files experienced by the Personnel Department of the Municipal Office of Indang, Cavite, by the development of Management Information System. The development was conducted at Ronquillo, Cavite City, from May 2013 to November 2013 while system testing and evaluation was conducted at municipal office of Indang, Cavite from December 2013 to January 2014. The system automated the process of compiling of data stored in the database. This allows faster data retrieval and generation of reports. Employee profiling as well as retrieval of daily time records were automated as well. Iterative model was used in the development of the study. It has five phases namely; software requirement analysis, design, code generation, testing and evaluation. The system was developed using numerous software tools: Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) as the scripting language, My Structured Query Language (MySQL) as the database management system, and Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver for the designing of the system. The system was evaluated based on its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. The respondents were composed of the Human Resource (HR) staffs and other employees of the municipal office of Indang, Cavite. The results were tabulated, analyzed and statistically treated using mean and standard deviation. Evaluation results indicated that the system passed and completed the needed requirements. Based on the results, the proponents proposed the following recommendations for further improvements of the study: adding a payroll module that computes the monthly salaries according to the daily time record of the employees; process of connecting the existing finger biometrics via a cable directly to the HR department; and enhancement of the user interface for increased user friendliness.
