Summary: ANLA, MARIESTEL B., and CANIESO, RAQUEL F., Enhancement of a Microcontroller Unit (MCU)-Based Multifunctional Timer. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Industrial Technology, Major in Electronics. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite April, 2005. Adviser Mr. Arvin D. Umali. The study was conducted to enhance a present multitimer. The multitimer was also used to provide a panel meter for MCU - Based circuit. The study also used to evaluate the performance of the design through actual testing and to conduct the cost computation of the design. The Microcontroller Unit (MCU)-Based Multifunctional Timer is devices that can turn-on and turn-off AC powered equipment eight (8) different cycles in daily or in weekly depending on the data input in the device. The MDT10P2X microcontroller handled the complex and complicated tasks in the design. A panel meter was also added to the design and Liquid Crystal Display was used. At the construction of the design, it was found that the only applicable meter was voltmeter. The device cannot handle more than 10A load. Finally, the design demonstrated an innovation of present multitimer. It handles more complicated tasks than the existing multitimer. The study met all the objectives and confirmed that this study was successful.
