Abstract: BAYETA, SHANNEN GRACE A. and MERINO, ARJANE T. Knowledge Portal for College of Engineering and Information in Cavite State University — Main. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Lydia P. Nosa. The knowledge portal for College of Engineering and Information Technology was developed to distribute information like documents and processes under administrative tasks. This portal provides a flexible knowledge environment to a large number of users in the college. The proponents used software development methodology as a paradigm in the development of the system. This methodology consists of the following phases: analyze / planning, breakdown priority projects, design module, code test, debug, integration of sub procedure and testing, integration with existing system, and test/implementation. The knowledge portal was developed under XAMPP, wherein Apache was used as the server, My Structured Query Language (MySQL) for the database, and PHP:Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) and JavaScript as the scripting languages. The system was evaluated by the participants based on the given criteria: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability of the software and materials. The evaluators were composed of the administrative staff of the College of Engineering and Information Technology. The results of the evaluation showed that the system was acceptable to the users and that it met the user requirements and its objective.
