Abstract: ABANTE, LAINECHELLE GAEL V. Backyard Hog in Alulod, Indang, Cavite: An Entrepreneurial Development Project. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship Major in Animal Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Dr. Cristina F. Olo. This project was conducted at Brgy. Alulod Indang, Cavite from December 09, 2018 to March 17, 2019. The project aimed to develop skills in swine production in terms of actual operation and management of a backyard hog fattening project, develop and apply entrepreneurial skills and obtain profit from a small scale swine fattening project. The swine production project used four weanlings with an average initial body weight of 16.5 kg. They were fed pre-starter from day 1 to 15, starter pellet at day 16 to 43, and grower pellet at day 44 to marketing period. They were fed three times a day up to marketing period and undergone restricted feeding. The average feed consumption was 200 kg. After 99 days, the hogs weighed an average of 74 kg on a dressed weight basis, average daily gain of 744.94 g and with 2.71 feed conversion efficiency. A total of P40, 237.17 was used for buying of stocks, feeds, medicine and other inputs used in the operation. The total sale was P44, 570.00, which gave a net income of P4,332.83, giving a return of investment (ROI) of 10.76%.
