The study generally aimed to determine the level of awareness of the residents and local government officials on the implementation of flood risk reduction and management in Barangay Habay I, Bacoor, Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to: determine the level of awareness of the residents on flood risk reduction and management of Barangay Habay I, Bacoor, Cavite in terms of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery; determine the level of awareness of local government officials on flood risk reduction and management of Barangay Habay I, Bacoor, Cavite in terms of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery; and determine the significant difference between the responses of residents and local government officials on their level of awareness on the phases of flood risk reduction and management of the area. The study involved 100 residents from Barangay Habay I, Bacoor, Cavite with age ranging from 18-40 years old, male and female. A total of 21 local government officials in the said barangay including the officials of Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council were also included in the sutdy. In order to gather data, the researchers made a questionnaire based on the programs being implemented under Republic Act No. 10121 otherwise known as the “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010" with regard to flood risk reduction and management. Using descriptive correlation method, the data obtained was analyzed and discussed.
