Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Prof. Estrellita D. Corpuz. A case study was conducted at Toyota Pasong Tamo, Inc. Parts Department located at 2292 Don Chino Roces St., Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati City, Philippines. It aimed to determine and analyze the procurement management of Toyota Pasong Tamo Incorporated, Parts Department. Specifically, it aimed to identify and describe the locally purchased parts and accessories of Toyota Pasong Tamo Incorporated, Parts Department; determine the existing policies and standards in the procurement process; determine the problems encountered regarding procurement process; analyze the procurement process using SWOT analysis and recommend feasible solutions to the problems encountered in the procurement management. Descriptive research design was used to answer the objectives presented. The study focused on the procurement process of the firm's parts department. Primary data were gathered through personal interviews and observations. Secondary data were obtained from the records and files of the company. Toyota Pasong Tamo Incorporated, Parts Department implements procedures, standards and policies pertaining to the procurement of its locally purchased parts. The process includes identification of needs, sourcing, canvassing, document preparation, picking-up of ordered parts and delivery of payment. Parts expediter is in-charge of this task. The firm has its own accredited suppliers. Procurement process as part of inventory control is important and must be supervised. This was to minimize the expenses of the department regarding local purchasing. This was also to reduce purchase cost by having purchase discount and terms and to observe the procurement cycle time which may affect customer satisfaction as well as profitability in the long-run. Factors which caused delays in the procurement cycle sometimes lead to customer back out. Strategic procurement process is still being developed and improved by the team members of parts department. Eliminating the process of picking-up of parts from supplier is the very first step in their plans.
