Bachelor of Science in Economics major in Development Economics. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Ma. Soledad M. Lising. The study was conducted in three selected first income municipalities in Cavite, namely Silang, Naic, and Indang. Two barangays from each municipality were selected to locate the rural and urban households. Data gathered were statistically treated using frequency, percentage, mean and ranking. Z-test was used in determining the difference between rural and urban households. The viral households have 384 individuals. The average age of the household members was 28 years. Half of the rural household members were college and high school graduates with an average household size of five. On the other hand, the urban households have 420 individuals. The average age of the household members was 29 years. Most of the urban household members were high school graduates with an average household size of six. There were 149 working members and 242 non-working members in rural household while in urban households, there were 163 working members and 263 non-working members. I.n both households, the ratio of working to non-working members was 1:2. There was no difference in household income, savings and wealth between rural and urban households. However, they differ in water utility and rent of dwelling. The average household income of rural and urban households is P23,090 and P25,300 respectively. The average value of their wealth is P5,028,405.17 and P5,095,450_57 respectively. Most of the major income earners in rural household are self-employed while more than half of the major earners in urban household are private employed. Most of them in both rural and urban households obtain below 8 hours of rest and sleep. They do not have budget for family gathering, sports and leisure activity. Garbage and stealing are the problems encountered by both household in their community. The rural household needs livelihood projects while the urban household needs employment opportunities to develop their livelihood.
