Abstract: CUNANAN, RUTH ABIGAIL A. Financial Management Practices of Motorcycle Dealers in Selected Towns of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management Major in Financial Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2013. Adviser: Prof. Ludivinia F. Victorino. The study was conducted in selected towns of Cavite, to accomplish the following objectives: (1) to determine the educational attainment of the managers of motorcycle dealers in selected towns of Cavite; (2) to determine the business characteristics of motorcycle dealers; (3) to determine the degree of implementation of financial management practices in areas of cash management, accounts receivable, inventory management, and financial reporting of motorcycle dealers in selected towns of Cavite; (4) to determine the level of effectiveness of financial management practices of motorcycle dealers in selected towns in Cavite; (5) to determine if educational attainment of the managers of motorcycle dealers and business characteristics have significant relationship with the effectiveness of financial management practices of motorcycle dealers in selected towns of Cavite; (6) to determine if the degree of implementation of financial management practices has a significant relationship with the level of effectiveness of financial management practices of motorcycle dealers in selected towns of Cavite; and (7) to determine the problems encountered by motorcycle dealers in terms of financial management practices in selected towns in Cavite. Aspects of the research methodology were discussed in the study, including the research design, data collection and methods of data analysis. Hypothesis testing to support the model of financial management practices of the motorcycle dealers was also examined in this study. The thesis provides descriptive findings of the degree of implementation of financial management practices of motorcycle dealers, business characteristics, educational background of the managers and its relationship with the effectiveness of financial management practices. Financial management practices were highly implemented among participants. The results of the study also showed that degree of implementation has significant relationship with the effectiveness of financial management practices.
