Abstract: LAVADO, ANNIE J. AND RUTAQUIO, MARIA RIZZA LORAINE M. E-Learning System in Operating System for the Department of Information Technology. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Mr. Jake R. Ersando. The study was conducted from January 2015 to February 2016 in the Department of Information Technology, College of Engineering and Information Technology in Cavite State University located at Indang, Cavite. The software was developed to provide an additional online learning resources with animated tutorials for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students which can encourage the students to learn and study the lessons. The researchers used the Prototyping as the software methodology for the development of the system. It consists of eight phases: identify requirements, design, prototype construction, evaluation, review and updating, development, test, and implementation and maintenance. The researchers used PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor as the programming language, MySQL as the database, Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 for designing the prototype and the final system, Macromedia Flash 8 for the animated tutorials, Microsoft Word for the documentation of this study, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and XAMPP for the Apache Server. The system was evaluated by the respondents based on the given criteria: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. Evaluators were composed of BSIT students taking up or took up operating system (OS) subject, and OS instructors. The system passed all the given criteria in evaluation, met all the features and functionality as well as the requirements and objectives of the study.
