Abstract: ISAGUIRRE, ESTHER T. and QUION, CLARK KENDALL J. Proposed Design of Four-Storey Multi-Purpose Modular Building. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University lndang, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Engr. Larry E. Rocela. Proposed design of four-storey multi-purpose modular building was conducted at Cavite State University — Main Campus from August 2017 to May 2018. The study aimed to design a four-storey multi-purpose modular building and provide a complete architectural plan and structural plan of the design project. This study served as reference for the University for Future Projects The engineering software STAAD (Structural Aided Analysis and Design) was used in the analysis of structural framework. The guidelines set by the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP) were followed in the design computation. The ultimate moment, shear and axial loads were the basis for the design. The module used in the design has a length of 12 m, width of 3.5 m, and a height of 3 m. All specification needed were followed in the design process. Detailed analysis and design was proven safe and economical after the manual computation of the design. The estimated total project cost of the four-storey commercial complex using intermodal container with total floor area of 2688 m2 was P 25,328,096.71. The estimated cost per unit area was P 9,422.66. Based on the study conducted, it was found out that using modules as building material was a great idea considering the quality and advantages of the modules to be used and its standard specifications. It is recommended to conduct a more comprehensive study on this type of construction system and analysis of the modular building made of modules for a more accurate reaction of the forces and loads acting on its members.
