Abstract: BENITEZ, JOY MARIE V., GULLAS, JEREMY ANN R., TAGUSTOS, CARIZZA KRISELL 1 Hemostatic Activity Of Ethanolic Extract of Cycas zambalensis Leaves anti Offshoots. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Cavite State University Indang Cavite. October 2015. Adviser: Prof. Ronnalyn S. Sanchez, RMT. This study entitled "Hemostatic Activity of Ethanolic Extract of Cycas zambalensis Leaves and Offshoots" was conducted at the Department of Medical Technology Laboratory, College of Nursing from April to November 2014. It aimed to determine the hemostatic effect of ethanolic extract of Gyms =ambalensis leaves and offshoots. The potential hemostatic effect of Cycas :ambalens is leaves and offshoots were evaluated in-vitro on human blood for clotting time and normal lyophilized serum for measuring Activated Partial Thromboplastin time (APTT) and Prothrombin time (PT) and Milk test for detecting astringency effect of the ethanolic extract. Results revealed that the extract of leaves and offshoots have a significant effect on the clotting time of blood. The partial thromboplastin time and prothrombin time shorten after the administration of leaves and offshoots extract. Moreover, the extracts also showed astringency effect. Cyeas =ambalensis, being natural and cheap has been proven to have an effect on blood coagulation.
