Abstract: DE VILLA, JOHN EMERSON D., FABIONAR, SHAWN MICHAEL A., and FERNANDEZ, CHRISTIAN PIERRE, P. Development of an Efficient Vehicle Security Monitoring System at Cavite State University — main campus. Undergraduate thesis, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Dr. Willie C. Buclatin. The study was conducted from August 2018 to May 2019 at Cavite Stat University, Indang, Cavite to develop an efficient vehicle security monitoring system in Cavite State University - Main Campus. Specifically, it aimed to; 1. determine the current process for vehicle monitoring in Cavite State University - Main Campus; 2. determine the problems experienced upon vehicle monitoring; 3. design and develop a vehicle security monitoring system; and 4. test and evaluate the vehicle security monitoring system. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a technology that uses waves to transfer data from an electronic tag, called RFID tag or label, attached to an object, through a reader for the purpose of identifying and tracking the object. In this study, an RFID based system has been built in order to produce a vehicle security monitoring system. This system consists of two main parts which include the hardware and the software. The problem of the current process was inefficient method of checking vehicles. Developmental methods were used to analyze the current problem. The research design was used to describe, identify and evaluate the current system of vehicle security monitoring. The developmental research was utilized in developing a system based on the needs reflected by the problems identified. Developing a system provided guidelines in enhancing the current vehicle security monitoring system. Based on the results gathered, the researchers concluded that the current monitoring system in the university includes visual inspection for vehicle with gate pass stickers with 1-year validity. The proposed vehicle security monitoring systems for the university includes device that records every entry and exit of vehicles. The logs will be recorded at The system including vehicle and driver’s information and can be reviewed anytime. The procedures in developing the vehicle security monitoring device were identified and evaluated by the participants with an overall result of excellent.
