Abstract: The farm practice was conducted at the Don Severino Agricultural College from May to August 1990. It aimed to develop the skill of the farm practice student in managing a small agricultural farm. An area of 1,500 square meter was used for the project. The variety of corn was glutinous, while the variety Eg Glabrous used for mango. The land was prepared by plowing and harrowing twice at an interval of one week. Corn and mango seeds were sown directly in the field alternately in furrows with a distance of 75 centimeters. The seeds were spaced 50 centimeters between hills. Basal application of fertilizer (14-14-14) was done during planting at the rate of 333 kilograms per hectare. Thirty days after germination, urea (45-0-0) was side dressed at the same rate used in complete fertilizer. Harvesting of corn was done 70 to 75 days after planting. Corn was marketed immediately after harvest to preserve sweetness and to prevent shrinking of kernels. Mango was harvested 65 to 70 days after planting. Around 2,680 ears of corn were harvested and were marketed at Class A P.75, Class B P.60 and Class C P.50/ear. On the other hand, 30 gantas of mongo were harvested and sold at t45.00 per ganta. The total expenses of 1,877.67 and a net income of /1,109.83.
