Abstract: CEPEDA, AIMEE C., SANTOS, JESICA C., TARRANCO, APRILENE A., Financial Behavior of Public High School Teachers in District VI of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Prof. Nelia E. Feranil. A study was conducted to determine the financial behavior of public high school teachers in District VI of Cavite, namely: Amadeo, General Trias City, Tanza and Trece Martires City, from November 2015 to February 2016. A total of 307 public high school teachers served as the participants of the study. Proportionate random sampling technique with replacement using fish bowl technique was used in identifying the participants needed for each study area. Mean, frequency count, range, rank. standard deviation and percentage were used in describing the participants' socio-demo-economic characteristics, financial behavior, and in determining the other factors that influence the financial behavior of the public high school teachers. Chi- Square Test was used to determine the degree of relationship between the sociodemo-economic characteristics and financial behavior of public high school teachers in District VI of Cavite. Totest was also used to determine the significant difference in the financial behavior of male and female public high school teachers. The public high school teachers in District VI of Cavite who participated in the study are generally in the ear!y stage of their adulthood, dominated by female in number and married, h.åostty, the participants' position held was teacher I, Il, 115 and have an average of two dependents. Majority of the participants worked for 10 years, and earned an average monthly income of Php 20,085.56. Aside from teaching, some of the teachers own a business that serve e other source of their income. Public high school teachers showed very good financial behavior in financial planning and cash management. On the other hand, participants showed good financial behavior in their saving and credit management. The position held by public high school teachers affects their financial planning management. The financial behavior of male and female public high school teachers do not have any significant difference because they both possess satisfactory financial practice in their financial planning, cash, saving and credit management. The other factors that influence the financial behavior of the public high school teachers were inflation, incentives and financial education.
