Abstract: SALAZAR, ANGELICA M., Adequacy of Government Health Services as Perceived by the Residents in the Municipality of Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Development Management major in Training Program Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December 2016. Adviser: Dr. Antonio G. Papa. This study was conducted to determine the level of adequacy of health services among the residents in the Municipality of Indang, Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to: determine the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants; determine the health care services offered in the barangays, determine the adequacy of government health care services offered in the barangays, determine the level of satisfaction of the participants in the health care delivery system in the barangays; and determine the problems encountered by the participants in availing the health care services in the barangays. This study adopted a descriptive research design. The participants came from the eighteen selected barangays: Barangay Agus-os, Alulod, Bancod, Buna Lejos, Buna Lejos 2, Calumpang Cerca, Calumpang Lejos, Guyam Munti, Kayquit 1, Limbon, Kaytambog, Lumampong Balagbag, Poblacion 3, Poblacion 4, Pulo, Tambo Balagbag, Tambo Malaki, and Tambo Ilaya in Indang. Systematic Sampling was used to determine the participants per barangay. A total of 199 participants were interviewed in October 2016 using survey questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency counts, mean, standard deviation and percent. A 5-point Likert scale measured the level of adequacy of health services and satisfaction of participants. Ages of the participants ranged from 17 to 85 years old with a mean of 43 years. More than half of them were female (54%), married (69%) and high school graduates VI (43%) with 2 to 10 household members. Their average family monthly income is P 12,542.00. The health services provided in the barangay like immunization, breast feeding, control of diarrhea, vitamin A capsule, and maternal care were adequate. The participants' satisfaction on health care delivery system showed that they are "satisfied" with the grand mean of 3.92. Most of the participants indicated "Absence of Medical Personnel" as the problem encountered in availing health services in their barangay with frequency count of 144.
