Abstract: PACUAN, ANGEL N. Implications of SK election suspension on the implementation of Youth Welfare and Development in the City of General Trias, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis Submitted to the Faculty of College of Arts and Sciences Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Prepared under the supervision of Professor Anna Michelle G. Ramos. The suspension of the election of Sangguninang Kabaatan didn't stop the advocacy and eagerness of the youth to lead and represent the barangay youth in our political society. The researcher aimed to know the effects of the suspension of the Sangguniang Kabataan election specifically in the 33 barangays of General Trias City. The main objective of the study is (1) to determine the programs implemented at the barangay level after the SK election has been suspended. (2) Determine the implications of the SK election suspension on the implementation of Youth Welfare and Development. The researcher focused on the programs implemented at every barangay and the implications of SK election suspension does affect the implementation of Youth Welfare and Development. The researcher started formulating her study from the month of December 2017 to March 2018. The researcher conducted interview at the 33 barangays of General Trias City, Cavite. As the study results were shown, every barangays in the City stated that they implemented programs such as sports league, feeding programs, ALS, school brigade, distribution of school supplies, free circumcision and different projects like street lights, restoration of barangay court and etc., likewise, they are also providing free seminars for the youth of their barangays. Also, the suspension of the SK election does not affect the implementation of Youth Welfare and Development because of the institutional actions of the City and the substitution of temporary youth officials called as Youth Task Force.
