Abstract: ENCISO, KIMBERLY ANN D. lnstitutional action of City Government of Dasmarinas Youth Welfare and Development in 2016: An Analysis. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2017. Adviser: Mr. Alexander C. Rodis. The study was conducted from January to March 2017 in Dasmarinas City, Cavite to analyze the institutional action of the local government on youth welfare and development in Dasmarinas City. Specifically, it aimed to: (l) describe the institutional actions for youth welfare and development implemented by the local government in Dasmarinas City; (2) determine the impact of the institutional actions on the youth welfare and development on the city; and (3) determine the challenges that affect the implementation of the institutional actions. Data was gathered in the form of unstructured interview with City Mayor, four City Councilors, and 12 Youth leaders in the selected barangays of San Mateo, Victoria Reyes, San Andres Il, San Nicholas Il, Salitan Ill, Salawag, San Andres I and Sta. Cristina I. This study revealed that the City Government of Dasmarinas offers lots of opportunities, programs and projects for the youth like, Alternative Learning System, TESDA, livelihood program or job hunting for out of school youth. They also offer scholarship in three different categories; for those who are intellectually excellent, sports oriented, and musically — inclined. Many of the youth are addicted to drugs, computer games, and gambling so, City Government of Dasmarinas helps by offering different seminars or workshop. It helps a lot to improve the lifestyle of the youth. Despite of all the benefits, the challenges that encounter in the implementation of the institutional actions are not coordinated with any national law including Republic Act no. 8044 Youth in Nation Building Act and unsatisfactory performance of the youth in the City Development.
