Abstract: DIESTA, MIKEE C. Morphological and Histological Diversity of Oviduct and Pin Bone of Philippine Native (Arras platyrhynchos L.) and Other Commercial Duck Breeds. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Major in Animal Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser Dr. Mariedel L. Autriz. The study, entitled "Morphological and Histological Diversity of Oviduct and Pin Bone of Philippine Native (Arias platyrhynchos L.) and Other Commercial Duck Breeds", was conducted at the Department of Animal Science and Department of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite from March to May 2019. Generally, the study aimed to compare the morphological and histological features of the oviduct and pin bone of Philippine native (Anus platyrhynchos L.) and other commercial duck breeds_ Specifically, the study aimed to (1) measure and compare the distance or spacing of pin bone; (2) assess the variation in the lengths, widths and weights of segments of the oviduct of Philippine native (Alias platyrhynchos L.) and other commercial duck breeds; (3) compare the measurement of mucosal folds' height and thickness of tunica mucosa, tunica muscularis and tunica serosa of the oviduct segments; (4) determine the oviductosomatic index; and (5) determine the correlation between traits of the Philippine native (Alas platyrhynchos L.) and other commercial duck breeds. Mallard and Pekin ducks differed (P<0.01) from the other duck breeds in terms of their live weight of 2,622.90g and 2,317.30g, respectively and dressed weight of 2,025.30g and 2000.00g, respectively. Mallard ducks attained significant differences (P<0.05) in terms of pin bone spacing, both live and dressed with 3.58cm and 2.68cm, respectively, and lowest in Muscovy ducks. Mk Pima — Khaki had the longest (P<0.05) oviduct with 37.40cm and found shortest in Pekin ducks with 19.96cm. There were no significant differences (P>0.05) observed in the lengths, widths and weights of the oviduct segments. Mucosal folds height and thickness of tissue layers in the oviduct segments was not significant (P>0.05) except for the tunica serosa of isthmus from Itik Pinta - Iii111 and Pik PillaS' Kaymnanggi ducks (P<0.01) over other duck breeds studied. Results showed that oviductosomatic index were similar (P>0.05) among all duck breeds but is found higher (P>0.05) in Itik Pinas — Khaki with 1.43%. The results showed that there was a very high correlation value of 0.98 between live weight and dressed weight of duck breeds
