CAMPUS SAFETY IN CAVITE STATE UNIVERSITY- MAIN CAMPUS

The study was conducted from August 2016 to April 2017 to assess the campus safety in Cavite State University Main Campus. Specifically, it determines the level of campus Safety as perceived by its clients and security personnel in terms of people, equipment, and activity, to identify the significant difference between the perceptions of clients and security personnel on Campus Safety of Cavite State University-Main Campus and to develop an enhancement program can be proposed from the finding of the study.
Descriptive method is used in this study to describe the level of campus safety in Cavite State University- Main Campus. Stratified sampling and systematic sampling techniques were employed. The participants of the study were composed of 441, three
hundreds of these are students and the rest are the faculty and non-academic employees. Another are forty-one (41) security personnel from Cavite State University. Self-made survey questionnaire served as the main gathering tool in this study.
Findings implies that Cavite State University - Main Campus provides a good security measure in terms of safety of people, equipment, and activity as perceived by its clients and security personnel. However, there is a significant difference between the perception of clients and security personnel. Security personnel tended to know that
university is safer than the clients as they are the ones who have first knowledge of the security and safety measures being implemented.
Thus, it is recommended to implement more security measures in the University as well as improving the existing measures. The participants, specifically the clients assess that security measures should be implemented in the whole University in order to make the campus safer.
