The purpose of the study was to determine the coverage of climate change issues of student publication in selected higher education institutions in Cavite, Specifically; it aimed to identify the frequency of publication of articles regarding climate change, the types of articles published and the stand of the student publication regarding the issues on climate change.
This study used total enumeration where all copies of student publications published and archived from 2007-2017 were collected by the researchers. A thematic table was used to count the frequency and classify the articles. The researchers also used purposive sampling technique to conduct personal interviews with the members of the student publication organizations of the selected higher education institutions were also conducted to identify their stand on the issue of climate change.
It was revealed in the study that student publications have low frequency on the coverage of climate change issues and articles on the subject matter were published as a feature or literary works. The study also revealed that student publications from the selected higher education institutions in Cavite were still passive in the issue of climate change.
