Abstract: FERANIL, MILCA L. Hog fattening in Bailen, Cavite: An Entrepreneurial Project. Undergraduate Entrepreneurial Development Project. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship Major in Animal Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Dr. Magdalena N. Alcantara This project was conducted at Brgy. Kabulusan, General Emilio Aguinaldo (Bailen), Cavite from February 5 to April 30, 2017. The project aimed to develop skills in swine production, gain additional knowledge and skills in swine production, apply the management practices theoretically learned from animal science courses, determine the problems that are usually encountered by hog raisers, and gain profit after the production. The swine production project used four piglets with an average weight of 15.03 kg. The hogs were purchased from a backyard hog raiser in Barangay Dao-Batas, Bailen, Cavite. The feeds were bought from Farm Mart, Silang, Cavite. They were fed three times a day on the first month and twice a day on the remaining rearing period. After 85 days, the four hogs with an average initial weight of 15.03 kg gained 71.48 kg resulting to a total body weight of 86.5 kg. The average daily gain was 840 grams. The hogs consumed an average of 175 kg of feeds, giving a feed conversion ratio of 2.45. The project incurred a total expenses of P30,276.00. The total sales recorded was P45,120.00, giving a net income of P14,844.00. The return of investment (ROI) computed was 49.03%.
