Abstract: DEMILLO, MICHELLE M. and LOPEZ, JULY MIZPA A. Development of Liquified Petroleum Gas Overhead valve Engine Instructional Trainer. Undergraduate Design project. Bachelor of Industrial Technology, major in Automotive Technology major in Automotive Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite., Adviser: Prof. Danielito R.Escano. The carbureted 4k gasoline engine was originally built in Kamigo plant in Japan. The engine has inlet and exhaust manifolds located on the same side. It also has cast iron blocks and aluminum alloy head with a crankshaft supported by main bearings. The use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel source ensure that the performance of the vehicle is good and efficient. The consumption and utilization of alternative .1 such as I.PG for vehicles preserve the deteriorating situation of our ozone layer. Promoting the use of alternative fuels also lessen the air pollutants that are affecting the environment and the mother earth. The liquefied petroleum gas overhead valve engine trainer was developed using the following steps; canvassing and purchasing; reconstruction of the trainer, reconditioning the engine; installation of LPG kit; testing and evaluation. The original structure of the frame was retained however an angular bar was placed to hold the newly installed acrylic glass. The authors replaced the carburetor assembly to properly tune the air and fuel mixture. This was done to maintain the good running condition of the engine Along with these, the authors re-arranged the existing electrical wiring system for the safety or users. The LPG kit was slow, and comedy installed to met the requirements of the whole system. The trainer was tested and evaluated to ensure the good performance of the engine. Different laboratory activities were provided in order for the students to be familiar with the system. The project proved to be effective in providing knowledge about the conversion of auto LPG it opened new opportunities and challenges for students in enhancing their skills about conversion, by performing activities provided on the trainer, familiarizing basic components of the system.
