Abstract: A farm practice project entitled "Production of Pole Sitao using Chicken Manure as fertilizer was conducted in Kaytapos, Indang, Cavite from November 1996 to February 1997. It aimed to develop skills of the student in the production of pole sitao and to reduce the cost of producing sitao through application of chicken manure. An open field of 500 square meters previously planted to corn was used for this project It was plowed and harrowed alternately twice and later applied with 106.5 kilograms (kg) of chicken manure.. Furrows were made one meter apart with plants spaced 50 centimeters between hills. Germination took place five days after planting. Flowers were in full bloom from 45 to 50 days after planting. Tender green pods were harvested from 70 to 85 days. Total production of 204 kilograms pods was harvested with a gross sale value of P 7,510.00. A net income of P 3,060.80 was realized from the project after the total expenses of P 4,449.20 was deducted from the gross sales. This yielded to a Return on Investment (ROI) value of 68.79%.
