Abstract: A study was conducted to document plumage color and length in birds representative of the towns of Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Maragondon, Magallanes and Ternate, Cavite. Four cockerels and four pullets of approximately similar age were purchased from each of the four towns. General plumage color of each bird was visually determined and recorded. Plumage length in specific body parts of each bird was also measured. Results of the study showed an even distribution (P >.05) of plumage colors in birds from the four towns. Lengths of ear, thigh, fluff and finger feathers were similar (P > .05) between sexes and towns. Feathers in the lower neck, tail and secondaries were different (P < .05) between sexes but not (P> .05) between towns. In contrast, feathers in the upper neck were only influenced (P < .05) by locality but not by sex. Breast and primary wing feathers were longer (P < .05) in males than in females and in birds from Maragondon than in the other three towns. Significant (P .0 .05) sex x town interactions were noted in feathers on the upper and lower neck, back and primaries.
