Abstract: COSA, JUSTINE JOY C. FELICIANO, ALFREDO E. and REAL, XANDRA BLANCHE B., Public Perception to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Police Officers. This study was conducted from October 2017 to May 2018 to determine the public perception to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender police officers. Specifically it determine the public perception to lgbt police officers in terms of physical fitness, health issues, proper decorum and etiquette and sexual orientation as perceived by the community and LGBT police officers in selected city in Cavite. Descriptive method of research will be used in this study. This is a useful method of gathering information about rare phenomena that could not be reproduced in a laboratory or about subjects that are not well understood. Moreover, descriptive research method does not test specific relationships between factors. However, they provide information about behaviors and attributes with the goal of reaching a better understanding of a given topic (Boundless, 2016). Thus, in this study, descriptive method of research will be used in gathering information about the public perception of the community on LGBT police officer. Findings implies that lgbt police officers can be an effective law enforcer because they are physically fit, healthy, has sexual orientation and follows proper decorum and etiquette. On the other hand, some of the community members shows their trust to lgbt police officer but some of them weren't. But, it is noteworthy that they still pay respects regardless of police officer's gender. Thus, it is recommended that the LGBT Police Officers must undergo different training and seminars where their physical capability, health condition, sexual orientation and etiquette will be developed. For the Philippine National Police, they should recognized the capability of the lgbt police officers to make them feel belong in the agency. The community must continue showing their support to the lgbt community so that discrimination will be lessen.
