Abstract: BAGO, LORNA MARQUEZ, Institute of Graduate Studies, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, Philippines. PERFORMANCE OF MANGOSTEEN (Garcinia mangostana L.) SEEDLINGS AS AFFECTED BY ARBUSCULAR MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI AND DIFFERENT FERTILIZERS.Adviser: Dr. Simeon Samonte Crucido The study was conducted to determine the performance of the uninoculated and inoculated mangosteen seedlings with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi when supplied with different fertilizers. The findings showed that inoculation of AVIF and the different fertilizers had independent significant effect on the various plant characters considered in this study. Results indicated that AMF treatment significantly affected the number of mangosteens leaves as well as the width and length of leaves and plant height. Similarly, NPK content of the leaves and root infections were significantly higher in seedlings inoculated by mycorrhiza. The application of a mixture of 2.3 N - 1.4 P - 1.2 K per seedling (F 7) and 2.3 N - 0 - 1 2 K (F6) consistently resulted to significantly greater mean values for leaf width, leaf length, plant height and mean leaf number. The control (FO) or unfertilized mangosteen seedlings consistently produced the lowest mean values for the plant characters studied.
