Abstract: CASTILLO, JULIE PEARL C., SANTILLAN, JHOANNA MARIE M., and TAPIA, PAMELA MAE V., "Lived Experiences of Lesbian with Adopted child in Selected Areas of Cavite" Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, College of Arts and Sciences, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: the late Ma. Glenda A. Torreda, RPm. and John Christian Paolo M. Belen, RPm. This study determined the lived experiences of lesbians with adopted child in selected areas in Cavite; the manifestation feelings and thoughts about having an adopted child, their created meaning on having their own "family", and lastly, their found meaning about becoming a parent to their adopted child. This study used an interpretative phenomenological approach on this qualitative study through purposive and snowball sampling. It also used a validated interview guide with eight questions about the participant's lived experiences, conducted from November to December 2017. There were eight lesbian parents with ages 29 to 59 who shared their experiences about having an adopted child. They gave their consent to have the interview using camera and voice recorder. It was revealed that there were various experiences faced by a lesbian parent with adopted child, like being challenged upon raising children who were not biologically related to them. The participants were also firm to their testimonies that they were happy that were able to build their own tlimily, they felt complete in the sense that they were able to raise their child in the most responsible way they could. They also had hard times about being a parent like all others. The participants realized that becoming a parent would mean giving their best, having sacrifices and deeply understanding their beloved children whom they love and call their own.
