Abstract: MALACA, ETHELYN A. and RAMILO, KATHERINE MAE M. Cavite State University — Office of Student Affairs Online Scholarship and Financial Assistance Management System. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Charlotte B. Carandang. Cavite State University - Office of Student Affairs online scholarship and financial assistance management system was designed to provide solutions for the scholarship and financial assistance services' processes and transactions. The system is responsible for the collection, storage, and retrieval of data for the purpose of efficient management of scholarship and financial assistance services. The proponents used the software development methodology as a paradigm in the development of the system. This methodology consists of the following phases: analyze/planning, breakdown priority project, design module, code test/debug, integration of sub procedure, integration with existing system, and test / implementation. The system was developed using PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) as the server-side scripting language, My Structured Query Language (MySQL) as the database, Apache as the server, and Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) for the web page format. The system was evaluated by 338 participants based on the following criteria: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. Evaluators were composed of students and the head of scholarship and financial assistance services.
