A 480-hour field study was conducted at Royale International Courier Philippines
Inc., located at Oyster Industrial Complex Bldg. 1 NAIA Rd. corner Kabihasnan San
Dionisio, Paranaque City. The field study aimed to expose the student to the different management operations of the firm and provide the opportunity for the student to apply the knowledge acquired in classroom discussions.
Data and information were gathered from the records/files of the company, Observation, and personal interview with the personnel of the operations department.
The field study conducted compliments with theories learned in the classroom. It provided the necessary experiences for the student to develop skills particularly on the
use of office equipment and machine. The cooperating firm in return needs to conduct a
well-planned trainee's orientation to come up with a better apprenticeship program.
Royale International Couriers Philippine Inc. is completely structured and committed to becoming a single source mail management company. It is a synergy borne
out of passion to be first in whatever they do and a vision to give their customers the best service that they deserve.
Now, the company is made better, stronger and more flexible to address customers’ needs under a one stop shop concept. During the span of the training in the
Operation Department, skills developed were proper way of dealing with the employees,
analysis of shipment and sales, preparation of business documents, use of fax machine and computer.
To improve the conduct of the field study, the University must exert extra effort in giving more hands-on experience to the students as well as case analysis exercises to develop the student's awareness of the actual management style of the company. The BSBM curriculum must provide additional credit units on Information Technology and subjects must be computer based.
On the firm's side, they must assign the trainee to various to develop their skills and competencies in all areas of the firm. They can also provide training allowances in order to motivate the trainee.
