Abstract: LAGRISOLA, ALLEN JONSON. Evaluation of Training Programs for Agricultural Development of Central Azucarera Don Pedro (CADP) in Nasugbu, Batangas. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Development Management major in Training Program Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite.April 2002. Adviser: Prof Noel A. Sedigo. The study was conducted to evaluate the training programs conducted by CADP in Nasugbu, Batangas. The study aimed to (1) identify the training programs conducted by CADP in the year 2000 to 2001; (2) evaluate these training programs in terms of achievement of training objectives and effect of trainings on the income of the farmer-beneficiaries/trainees; and (3) determine the problems encountered by the CADP training staff and trainees in the conduct of the training programs. The demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the farmer-beneficiaries/trainees were analyzed using descriptive measures such as frequency counts, means, ranges and percentages. However, the average was used in determining the income of the farmer-beneficiaries/trainees. T-test was used to determine and measure the difference between the income before and after attending training programs conducted by the CADP in the year 2000 to 2001. Three training programs for agricultural development were conducted by CADP from the year 2000 to 2001. These are: (1) Seminar on UBOD (coconut) Production (2) Seminar on Efficient Sugarcane Farming under the 0.P.S.I; and (3) Training on Rice Production Technology. These were live-in seminars that took two to three days to conduct and were held in Palico Training Center (PTC) in Nasugbu, Batangas. Of the 65 fanner-beneficiaries/ trainees, 41 were males and 24 were females and majority (85 %) were married. The age of the respondents ranged from 22 to 77 years with an average of 45 years. Thirty-three had formal schooling and 23 had non- formal schooling. Nine earned a college degree. The number of dependents of the respondents ranged from 0 to 14 with an average of five. Farmer-beneficiaries/trainees have an average annual income of P32,426.64 before attending the training programs The average income of the farmer respondents after attending the training programs was P32,749.78. Findings of the study showed that there is no significant difference between their income before and after attending the training programs. Farmer-beneficiaries/trainees encountered financial problems for transportation to the training venue. The CADP training organizers/staff encountered two problems namely, late arrival of the participants and difficulties of coordinating with different training agencies.
