Abstract: TOLENTINO, FRANCISCA C., EVELYN P. SOSA AND JOEL R. MARTINEZ. Kainan sa Barrio. An Enterprise Development Project. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Marketing. Cavite State Universtiy — April 2003. Adviser: Mr. Oliver C. Fauni An enterprise development project was conducted at Barangay Lapidario, Trece Martirez, City from November 03, 2002 to February 19, 2003. Through this project the students capabilities in managing a food and doing actual operation were developed. The project concentrated on the operation and management of a carinderia covering all the functional areas such as organization, marketing, production and finance using an initial capital of P 34,000.00. Data and other information pertaining to the Entrepreneurial project were gathered through actual operation. The project earned a total sale of P 78,628.50 during the entire period. A total of P 8,858.50 was spent for raw materials needed in the operation and P 7,627.89 was used as operating expenses. The remaining P 37.22 was the net profit. The problems encountered in the project were the limited knowledge of entrepreneurs in terms of cooking and unapproachable jail guards. These problems were solved by studying more recipes and taking the order of inmates in their cells. The project gave the students the needed managerial and entrepreneurial skills to be able to establish similar type of business in the future.
