Abstract: MARC DARISH P. ALCAZAR, JOHN MARK Z. BAYRON, AND SHAINE NICOLE P. CALAPATI. Factors and Strategies affecting Voting Behavior of Registered Voters in the Municipality of Silang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis Submitted to the Faculty of College of Arts and Science Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. Voting is a form of electoral behavior. Voters are attracted by sociocultural issues such as those discussed in this study. Elections are usually regarded as the embodiment of public will, the manifestation of the people's sovereign authority in contemporary democratic countries. In this study, the main objective is to identify the Factors and Strategies affecting Voting Behavior of Registered Voters in the Municipality of Silang, Cavite. Specifically, it also sought answers to the following: (1) Determine the demographic profile of the participants; (2) Identify the factors affecting the voting behavior of the participants; (3) Determine the election campaign strategies used by a political candidate to affect the voting behavior of the participant; and (4) Determine if there are significant relationships between factors, election campaign strategies, and voting behavior. The researchers focused on explaining the factors and strategies affecting the voting behavior of the registered voters from the Municipality of Silang, Province of Cavite. The researchers started formulating their study from the month of September 2021 up to June 2022. The researchers employed the Quantitative method research design to collect and analyze data. This method was used to gain a better insight of the quantitative data and subsequently to offer a better explanation of the study using a variety of information sources, mostly from reliable sources of data, primarily the response of the participants. Also, this method was used to determine the factors and strategies of the political campaign in affecting the voting behavior of participants from Silang, Cavite by choosing their political candidates. Moreover, in analyzing the collected data, the researchers used descriptive statistics, bivariate statistics, correlation analysis, chi-square test for independence and t-test for independent samples. It further explores the concept of relationship between two variables and describes the main characteristics and features of the collected data. Also, the researchers guaranteed the confidentiality of the information that participants gave through the self-made questionnaire. As a result of the study, based on the data collected, it showed that most of the participants have been registered for 25 and up years, while in residency, it showed that most of them have lived in Silang, Cavite for 25 and up years, while most of them are aged 50-54. In terms of the factors affecting the voting behavior in the overall mean for personal stress and educational attainment, the researchers discovered that the participants generally are neutral with the statements under educational background. While the participants generally 'somewhat agreed' with the statements under the family affiliation, In terms of political party or affiliation, the participants generally somewhat agreed on the statements made under the political party, and on the platforms, the participants generally 'highly agreed' on the statements made under the platforms. Moreover, in terms of campaign strategies, in overall meaning for personal stress and the campaign jingle, the participants generally 'somewhat agreed' with the statements. Participants in the social media advertisement were generally 'neutral' with the statements. For merchandise, the participants are generally 'neutral' with their statements. In terms of the relationships between factors and voting behavior as well as between election campaign strategies and voting behavior, there is enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis and conclude that the relationships are highly significant as shown in the results and discussion of this study. The researchers highly recommended studying other preferred age brackets, other years of residency, and years of being registered voters for the participants who conducted their studies in other municipalities and cities in the Province of Cavite to widen the scope of the study. It is also recommended to administer another set of questionnaires that will be able to measure and identify the factors and strategies affecting the voting behavior of the participants in the study. Lastly, the researchers believed that the result of this study should act as a basis for the Commission on Elections, political candidates, political groups, and parties in understanding the voting behavior of the registered voters in Silang, Cavite under the given criteria.
