Abstract: MICOSA, JADE COLIN A., DIOKNO, RAFAEL JAMES A., and VERDEFLOR, MICHAEL BISHOP P. Level of Engagement in Health Practices of Athletic and Non-Athletic Students of Cavite State University - Main Amidst COVID - 19 Pandemic. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science major in Fitness and Sport Management. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. September 2022. Adviser: Mr. Ronnel P. Cuachin. The study was conducted from May 24, 2022, to September 6, 2022 at the College of Sports and Physical Education and Recreation, Cavite State University- main campus. This study was conducted to determine the difference in the level of engagement in health practices of athletic and non-athletic students of Cavite State University amidst COVID- 19 pandemic. The quantitative study used a descriptive-comparative design that determined the level of engagement in health practices of athletic and non-athletic students of Cavite State University, and also found that there is no significant difference between the two groups of research participants. The study focused on 73 athletic and 73 non- athletic students of Cavite State University for a total of 146 students. The study used purposive sampling technique. The researchers used a survey questionnaire for the data collection of the study. For the data gathering, all procedures were done through online dissemination, as face-to-face interaction was still prohibited. The researchers utilized Google forms to gather the necessary data. Informed consent was included upon disseminating the survey link. In the results, Table 15 demonstrates that the majority of subscales got p- values greater than the significance level of 0.05. This is equivalent to failing to reject the null hypothesis. This indicates that there are no significant differences between athletes and non-athletes in terms of nutrition, personal and health care, and public health. However, the subscales got a p-value less than the significance level of 0.05, hence the null hypothesis is rejected. This indicates that significant differences have emerged on the mental health and physical fitness subscales. In conclusion, the researchers failed to reject the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference in the level of engagement in health practices of the athletic and non-athletic students of Cavite State University - main campus during the COVID- 19 pandemic. The researchers advise school administrators to implement scheduled face-to- face learning in the field of physical education activities, as P.E./fitness subjects are held once a week. However, safety measures such as vaccine identification, temperature checks, health consultations, and social distancing shall be implemented. Additionally, for the College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation, it is recommended to promote awareness and importance of social emotional learning competencies and implement social-related recreational activities such as mountaineering, swimming, yoga, etc. that help in the students' self-awareness, self- management, social awareness, relationship skills, and decision making (Kampen, 2021).
