Abstract: YURONG, EDITHA ROLONA, "ZUELLIG PHARMA CORPORATION, MAKATI CITY", Undergraduate Field Study, Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Major in Economics, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 2001. Adviser: Mr. Adonis Meñez. A three-month field study was conducted to expose the trainee to the firm's different management operations and at the same time apply the knowledge acquired in classroom discussions. This field study report presents some information about the company's history, organization and management, marketing, distribution, sales and collection, and information on the human resource division. Zuellig Pharma Corporation, one of the top 20 companies in the country, is able to attract college graduates, enabling it to produce some of the best and the most talented professionals in the pharmaceutical industry. Employees are trained to enhance their competencies and develop other skills by undergoing seminars and training. Zuellig Pharma Corporation is the foremost provider of sales, distribution, and marketing services in the pharmaceutical industry. It handles the products of more than 170 international healthcare companies. They also serve the distribution requirements of over 70 multinational principals, continuously bringing their products to the market through some 13,000 Pharma outlets, including drugstores, hospitals, clinics, and industrial accounts. To coordinate and streamline the different services provided to their principals and customers, they maintained a firm and total services approach, guided by a clear-cut and vital set of core values. Conducting this field study provided the trainee the experience, exposure, and insights regarding the activities of the company. The trainee learned to work and deal with different pressures in the office that made her flexible. She also learned how to deal with different people inside the company. This developed her personality. The trainee observed that the company spends money for their employee's needs, but they also used a good part of their earnings, and sometimes borrow money, to make strategic investments that help provide job continuity and improve benefits for their people. Because the employees are the most valuable resources of the company, they should be treated well, and fair compensation should be given to them.
