Abstract: GUEVARRA, ALLENE GAIL S., and MOJARES, MARIE GRACE R. Walk from Home: A Plug-In Community Prototype for Industrial Zone. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Architecture. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: Arch. Mon Jerkis Serveño. The WALK (Walkable, Accessible, Linkage, Knits) from Home: A plug-in Community Prototype for Industrial Zone, according to the study, will promote housing, community development, and awareness for the benefit of employees who seek an adequate standard of living near their workplace. The study also aimed to create sustainable housing through the concept of Bahay Kubo. The researchers utilized eccentric urban design along with the design philosophy made by Jan Gehl. In order to have the said concept, materials for the housing will be made from straw bale which is considered to be sustainable and socialized community. A new strategic planning approach for developing housing communities for the nation for the next decades and generations, as well as for the country's urban development to become much more environmentally friendly. The researchers gathered relevant data and documents through archive records from government agencies and database information that mostly participated in the documented essential literary facts for the specified subject of the study. Other elements and factors of data were accumulated from related scopes such as books and magazines and were large fundamentals for adequate information. Convenience is one of the most appealing aspects of living in a Planned Unit Development (PUD). Designed to be self-sufficient small towns, these communities are built to be self-sufficient. Planned Unit Development (PUD) residential developments aim to make life as convenient as possible, from access to recreational facilities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, or gyms, to convenient shops such as grocery stores or pharmacies. These amenities also provide ample space and opportunities to socialize with neighbors. For young families or retirees, PUDs can foster a close-knit community, which is especially beneficial.
