Abstract: BERGADO, RONA P. AND ELIEZER A. LEGASPI, Exposure to and Attitude towards the Fantasy Forever album of Selected CVSU Mass Communication Students Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. Major in Journalism. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2004. Adviser: Ms. Bettina Joyce Ilagan. This study aimed to determine the relationship between exposure to and attitude towards Fantasy Forever album of selected CVSU Mass Communication students. Specifically, it was conducted: to determine the medium of exposure of the respondents to the Fantasy Forever album; to determine their degree of exposure to the Fantasy Forever album and to determine respondents' attitude towards the F4 album. The study was conducted at the Cavite State University from October 2003 to March 2004. A descriptive survey method was used. This kind of survey method attempts to picture or document current conditions or attitude — that is, to describe what exist at the moment. In descriptive survey, researchers are interested in discovering the current situation in a given area. A non-probability sampling was used. This kind of sampling does not follow the guidelines of mathematical probability. It is frequently used in mass media research, particularly in the form of available samples. Specifically, convenience sampling was employed in selecting samples. CvSU Mass Communication students were chosen to be the sample population — 178 students. To get the sample size, Slovin's formula was used, and 64 students became the respondents of this study. Only Mass Communication students who were available at the time of the conduct of this study were given a questionnaire. Data gathering was done from January to March 2004. A checklist questionnaire was developed to gather the necessary data needed for the study. The data were tallied, tabulated, organized, and analyzed. The statistical treatments applied are frequency counts, percentage, and chi-square test. Results revealed that television and radio were the media used where most of the exposure occurred. It also showed that most of the respondents had a low degree of exposure to the album and had neutral attitude towards the album. Results also revealed that there is a significant relationship between the two variables.
