Abstract: ALMANZOR, JERRIC D. and YU, DIANA G., Analysis on Marketability and Employability of Cavite State University Industrial Engineering Graduates. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2013. Adviser: Engr. Willie C. Buclatin. The study aimed to analyze the marketability and employability of Cavite State University Industrial Engineering graduates. Specifically, this research study attempted to determine the following: (a) the profile of Cavite State University Industrial Engineering graduates; (b) the profile of Cavite State University Industrial Engineering program in terms of: Faculty, Curriculum, Facilities / Equipment, and Student Activities; (c) to what extent the respondents perceive the following graduate related factors: Knowledge, Skills and Ability; (d) employability of the graduate respondents; (e) if there is a significant relationship between marketability and employability of industrial engineering graduates; (f) job satisfaction level of the graduate respondents; (g) problems/difficulties encountered by Industrial Engineering graduates in their present job; and (h) what implications can be derived from the findings of this study to gain market competitive advantages. The subjects in the study were fifty-two (52) randomly selected Industrial Engineering graduates of Cavite State University. The validated and reliable survey questionnaire was employed and is given to the respondents personally or via electronic mail to gather the data needed. Statistical methods such as frequency counts, percentile ranking, averages and correlation analysis with corresponding descriptive interpretation were used to analyze the data. Significant factors that are related to employability of the respondents were identified. These factors are the school related factors particularly faculty, curriculum and student activities and graduate related factors in terms of knowledge, skills, and ability that have low to moderately low positive/negative correlation to employability of the graduates. The following are the recommendations of this study: First, each department in the University should conduct a related study for their graduates to determine their present condition, growth and advancement, and in what extent has it contribute to the development and transformation of its graduates based on their job performance and satisfaction. Second, the administrators or instructors should encourage each graduate to work on fields where their specializations and knowledge can be totally applied for their further development and experiences which will be needed in the future work/job requirements. Third, they should encourage the graduates who have not professionally upgraded themselves to pursue graduate studies and attend in service training, workshops, conferences and seminars to gain advance knowledge, skills and abilities since all those three (3) graduate related factors have correlation to their employability. Forth, the faculty should maintain their motivation, being competitive and advanced knowledge and skills since faculty has also significant relationship to employability of graduates. Fifth, more tours should be added on subjects that require industry exposures, and school and out-of-the-campus competition should be more recurrent since student activities have significant effect to the graduates’ employability. Lastly, on-the-job- trainings should ensure job absorption to guarantee or secure CvSU IE’s competitive edge.
