The study deals with the Defense and Security Cooperation between the Philippines and Indonesia. The main objective of this study was to determine the progress on the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Indonesia particularly on the aspect of defense and security cooperation. Specifically, the study aimed to: (1) determine the various agreements in defense and security cooperation between the Philippines and Indonesia since the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) ; (2) determine the status of current cooperation condition between the Philippines and Indonesia in terms of: (a) Maritime Agreements; (b) Counter Terrorism; (c) Transnational Crimes; and (d) Border Cooperation; (3) identify the strengths and weaknesses of the agreements between the two countries. The study was conducted in different government agencies such as the Department of Foreign Affairs, official website of the Department of National Defense, Camp Rafael C. Crame (Camp Crame) and Department of Foreign Affairs. The authors conducted this study. from August 2016 until December 2017.The study used secondary data to determine the defense and security cooperation between the Philippines and Indonesia. Upon conducting this study, it was discovered that there were six agreements between the Philippines and Indonesia since the 1993 Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation between the Government of Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines such as: 2014- 2016 Plan of Action, Joint Statement between the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of the Philippines Concerning the Delimitation of the Continental Shelf Boundary, Agreement between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia Concerning the Delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zone Boundary, Agreement on Information Exchange and Establishment of Communication Procedures, Memorandum of Understanding between the Indonesian National. Police and the Philippine National Police on Cooperation in Preventing and Combating Transnational Crimes, and 1975- Revised Agreement on Border Crossing between the Republic of the Philippines and Republic of Indonesia.
