Abstract: BONGCAYAO, KLOE RAINE G., GARCIA, ERVINIA P., PEREZ, LAARNI /WAVE P., Adaptation and Psychometric Soundness of Study Skills Inventory for College Students of Cavite State University. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology, College of Arts and Sciences, Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. May 2018, Adviser: Dr. Cecilia A. Banaag, PhD. This study was conducted to adapt a study skills test to assess and to determine the study skills of the college students at Cavite State University. This study aimed to adapt and determine the psychometric soundness of study skills test in terms of content, construct, and concurrent validity; and inter-item and test-retest reliability. This study was conducted at Cavite State University, Indang Cavite and some selected satellite campuses. To identify the target population for the study, multi-stage sampling technique was utilized. Stratified proportional random sampling technique, cluster sampling technique, and simple random sampling technique were also used. The study skill utilized by college students was determined through a study skills inventory. The data from the participants were used to analyze the psychometric soundness in terms of validity and reliability. The inventory was found to be a valid and reliable measure of study skills. The validity index of the inventory was measured through content validity ratio, exploratory factor analysis, and concurrent validity. On the other hand, reliability index of the Inventory was determined through inter-item and test-retest reliability. Likewise, norms were developed through stanine, percentile, and z-score which were utilized to interpret the scores in the test.
