Abstract: CARAOS, RONAMAE D., DIESTA, KENNETH R., OLARTE, MAURISS GERLEN M. Narrative Analysis of Adolescents Raised by Homosexual Parents. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. May 2018. Thesis Adviser: Mary Sol A. Abad. This study uncovers the life stories of adolescents that were raised by homosexual parent(s). It specifically aimed to: know what are the experiences and challenges they have faced because of their homosexual; how did it affect the children as they grow up; and how did they handle and deal with those experiences. This study made used of qualitative research design specifically narrative analysis involving eight (8) adolescents raised by a homosexual parent(s) from the areas in Cavite. The results of the data gathered showed that the relationship of the child with their homosexual parent, all of them showed their acceptance. In the challenges they have faced, themes found are the following: having a healthy relationship with his parent, trying to accept the situation, being bullied by classmates, being envious of other families, having discomforts, being hesitant to share, receiving normal treatment from others, having confusion on social roles, being accepted by peers, receiving awful judgments, having fear of criticisms, and getting used to the situation. The things that affect the child as they grow up are the following: becoming mature, becaming open, having good peer relationship, being proud, becaming motivated, becaming inspired and being resilient. They handle the challenges on having homosexual parent by disregarding other people, by rationalizing, by coping with adjustments, by confronting, and by having faith in God.
