BAGO, MAR FERRE, “ASIAN DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT PHILIPPINES, INC. ASPARAGUS GARDEN: A CASE STUDY" Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Mr. Roderick M. Rupido.
This study was conducted at Asian Development § and Management Philippines, Inc. Quezon Avenue, Quezon City from November 1994 to January 1995 to apply the gained knowledge in agribusiness management into actual situation. During the whole duration of the study, the existing problems were identified and feasible solutions were recommended.
This study dealt mostly on the different operations of ADMP, Inc. asparagus garden specifically sales, production, and marketing. Management and financial aspect of the firm were also studied.
It was observed that overlapping of ‘duties and responsibilities happens within the company. There is only one secretary and yet the firm received many business calis
everyday. Sometimes, some of the calls were not given attention due to crowded works of the secretary. There was also no major advertising efforts done except for some ad inclusions together with the other company's products in trade magazines.
It is apparent to have a good communication between the management in the main office and in the farm through open discussion during board meetings held in the office. Overlapping of duties and responsibilities can be avoided if the company will hire additional personnel. Additional promotional budget must be allotted not only to sell the company's product but also to educate people about the importance and difference of organically produced vegetables to that of chemically treated ones.
The company should develop new strategies to survive in a competitive industry. Careful matching of its strengths and weaknesses with the opportunities should be made.
