The project, "Turf Grass Production for Landscaping", was established at the Nursery area of the Crop Production Unit, College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources (CAFENR), International House II and an area besides the Administration building of Cavite State University Main Campus, Indang, Cavite. The project was conducted for four months from January to April 2018 that involved the production of 126sqm of variegated frog grass and 100sqm of carabao grass. Specifically, the project aimed to: provide opportunity for student entrepreneurs to acquire more knowledge and skills in the production of turf grasses; provide and develop entrepreneurial skills of the students in operating and managing the turf grass production; help student entrepreneurs determine the profitability of turf grass production including the identification of problems in managing the turf grass production; and help the students acquire knowledge in the marketing practices used in the given commodities and eventually equip the students in profitable agricultural entrepreneurship. Activities conducted by the student entrepreneurs include purchasing and preparation of propagating material, land preparation and marketing during the production period in turf grass production. Specifically, student entrepreneurs were able to develop skills and hands on experience in soil preparation, propagation, watering, weeding, fertilizer application, harvesting and marketing. The investment required for planting amounted to P2, 250 which was used to procure or purchase 15sqm of variegated frog grass and I0sqm of carabao grass as planting materials. Three months after planting, variegated frog grass was sold at Php 150.00/square meter while the carabao grass was sold at Php 80.00/square meter. The project produced 126sqm of variegated frog grass and 100sqm of carabao grass. The project produced a gross sales of P 26,900.00 and a net income of P13, 567.50. The products were sold to a landscaper, and some were sold to individuals for home garden use. Student entrepreneurs realized a Return on Investment (ROI) of 98.27 percent.
